Eight local high school students have worked incredibly hard this summer in our innaugural Natural Resources Summer Bridge Program. We invite anyone interested in learning more about these students or our program to come to the Summer Bridge closing ceremony on Thursday, August 8, at 4pm in Eden 1 on the Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) campus. The Summer Bridge Program allows local high school students to spend 8 weeks over the summer preparing for college and exploring careers in natural resources through coursework in math, writing, and forestry, and a field-based internship with Coos Watershed Association. Students will present on topics learned during their internship this summer; student recognition ceremony to follow. Light refreshment provided.

Please see the event flyer for more information and directions to Eden 1 on the SWOCC campus. Many thanks to the Pacific Power Foundation, the Ford Family Foundation, SWOCC and our local TRIO office for helping to make this program happen!
