Board Meetings

 

The Coos Watershed Association meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 AM. These meetings are open to the public. Stay informed of the Association's work by reviewing the Board meeting minutes.

March 2017

Board Meeting - This month the Annual Meeting will take the place of our regularly scheduled board meeting. The Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 5PM. See the event highlight below for more information.

April 2017

Board Meeting - Tuesday, April 11, 2017: This meeting will be held from 7:00AM - 8:00 AM. Location TBD.

May 2017

2017 Board Retreat - Tuesday May 9, 2017: This meeting will be held from 7:00AM - 8:00 AM. Location TBD.

 


Events

Coos Watershed Association staff present or participate in occasional outreach presentations, community events, or seminars. These events will be posted below as they are scheduled. We look forward to seeing you there. Other local environmental events will also be posted here.

Spring 2017

Community Presentations/Events:

  • April 1 - "Coastal Forest Roads Workshop: Assessment, Maintenance, and Improvement" Use your road maintenance dollars effectively. Learn to assess your existing road for potential problems and prioritize repairs. Morning classroom and afternoon field session with hands-on exercises to evaluate an existing road and discuss options for maintenance and improvement. Workshop runs from 9am-3pm and will be held at the Coos County OSU Extension Office (631 Alder St., Myrtle Point, OR 97458. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $35 - includes lunch and Roads Handbook. For more information and to pay online visit Coos County Extension Service.
  • April 15 - Southwestern Geology Lecture Series: Dr. Mark Tveskov, Southern Oregon University - "The Archaeology of the Rogue River War". Lecture begins at 7pm in the Hales Center for Performing Arts (1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay). For more information visit www.socc.edu/geology.

CoosWA in the Community (Outreach Tabling):

May 13 - The Mayfly Festival is an event sponsored by the Coos Watershed Association and other local partners designed to shed light on connections between community, the environment, and water. This festival draws together two of our brightest hopes for the future local youth and the incredible watershed in which we live.  This festival is an activity based event with local students leading the way and sharing their own watershed expertise with the public through interactive displays, games, and art. Event Highlight

2017 Annual Meeting

 

The Coos Watershed Association will hold its 2017 Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 5PM at the Coos History Museum (Sprague Gallery). Dinner will be included. You must RSVP via telephone (541-888-5922 ex. 301) or email (cooswa@cooswatershed.org) by Monday, March 20th to attend this event. When you RSVP please indicate whether a guest will accompany you. We look forward to seeing you there!
