B.S. in Biology & Criminology, Arizona State University
Lexi is originally from Arizona, which is also where she received her bachelors degree from Arizona State University. After moving to Coos County in 2016 she began volunteering for USFWS, ODFW & CoosWA where she discovered her interest during invasive plant surveys. She began working on CoosWA's Riparian Restoration Crew in the Fall of 2016 and was recently promoted to our newest position as the Noxious Weeds Coordinator.
In her spare time you can find Lexi travelling the Oregon Coast looking for adventure, and attempting to stay clear of poison oak.
What Lexi Does at CoosWA
In our newest position as the Noxious Weeds Coordinator, Lexi handles all things invasive-plant related. Not only does she concentrate efforts in the Coos watershed, but also does control work for the entire Coos County. She holds a current herbicide applicators license with a regulatory weed category. She also creates the Weed of the Month which focuses on a different invasive plant each month and is published in The World Newspaper on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of every month.
