EDUCATION BS in Environmental Science with minor in Watershed Science and Environmental Engineering from the New York State College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse NY MINI-BIO Meredith is an AmeriCorps intern at the Coos Watershed Association through the Northwest Service Academy through November of 2010. After graduating from college she spent 5 months as an invasive species monitor for the New Hampshire Rivers Council. Before taking this AmeriCorps position she spent almost two months traveling in Spain and Mexico visiting friends. Meredith has conducted research in renewable energy systems and sustainable living. Her hobbies include hiking, skiing, running, and enjoying nature. WHAT MEREDITH DOES AT COOSWA At the Coos Watershed Association Meredith is in charge of updating the website, coordinating the Friends of the Coos Watershed group, developing outreach materials such as the annual reports and quarterly newsletters, and coordinating presentations and workshops. She is bringing her passion for low-impact development into this job too. If you join the Friends of the Coos Watershed group you can be involved in watershed-friendly, low-impact development projects such as the installation of rain gardens to capture and slow-down excess runoff from large parking lots.
