Mini-Bio

Freelin has lived in the Coos Bay area most of his life. After working as a waiter and a restaurant manager he went back to school for an Associates degree in Environmental Technology because he wanted to pursue a job that would allow him to work outdoors. Before coming to the Coos Watershed Association, Freelin worked as a water quality technician with the Coquille Indian Tribe.

In his free time, Freelin enjoys surfing, snowboarding, mushroom picking, and spending time with his family. Freelin and his wife Kristine have two children, McKenna and Kai.

What Freelin Does at CoosWa

As a Hydrological Technician & Monitoring Supervisor at the Coos Watershed Association, Freelin runs all of our stream gaging and weather stations, and is in charge of stream temperature monitoring and shade analysis. He also manages road survey work. In the office, Freelin does data and GIS analysis, grant and report witing, in addition to being the resident computer expert.

You can contact Freelin at freasor@cooswatershed.org.

Recently, Freelin was the first on the scene of a forest fire. He was able to dig a fire trail to stop the forest fire from spreading before help arrived.
